How do we make glitter and holographic stickers?

Glitzy stickers require a bit of behind-the-scenes wizardry. It all starts with rolls of speciality vinyl. We use either holographic polyester embossed to split light into rainbows or PVC/PET loaded with fine glitter flakes. 

Next, we print your artwork straight onto the speciality film with a high-resolution digital press, before it’s sealed under a clear laminate for enhanced scratch and water resistance.

Finally, the laminated sheets go into a die-cutter, which trims out each sticker shape for easy peeling and sticking. Et voilà, your custom stickers are ready to be packaged and sent.

Top tips when designing custom holographic stickers

If you’re a passionate designer or artist, there are some helpful tips and tricks you can use to get a better result when designing custom holographic stickers. 

When creating your artwork, try to:

• Use darker, punchy colours: Dark hues will contrast beautifully against the glitter base. Whereas too many light shades can look washed out once printed.
• Make use of vibrant white ink: We can now print vibrant white ink onto your film. Just tell us which parts need white ink when you order.
• Plan for material-show-through: If you skip the white-ink option, any white areas in your design will remain unprinted, letting the holographic/glitter effect shine through. This is ideal for logos or accents.
• Anticipate slight colour shifts: Our inks are semi-translucent, so the glitter undertone may slightly tweak your colours. To lock in true hues, request a white-ink underlay beneath your print.
• Go full-bleed or spot-glitter: We can print right to the edge of your sticker for full coverage or leave specific areas unprinted so only the holographic effect shows.
